About the Artist

Kathleen Fiscus, Iowa native, currently lives in southwest Iowa in the Omaha metro area. Starting with private art lessons in childhood, she developed a love for working with oils and mixed media.

More recently, Fiscus has turned to acrylics as a medium of choice. While she paints a variety of subjects, her passion lies in gaining insight from nature, and the people and situations around her.

After retiring from a long broadcasting career and a stint in the travel and tourism industry, Fiscus now devotes much of her time to being an artist.

She has taught painting to adults at the Council Bluffs Public Library, and also teaches at The Hoff Arts Center by Pottawattamie Arts, Culture, Entertainment (PACE). She also loves to work with non-profits and is honored to donate paintings for their fundraising efforts. Fiscus has had paintings selected for the 2023 and 2025 New Masters at PACE, has painted numerous works on consignment, and has paintings on display and for sale. In addition, she’s combined her art with public speaking topics for various groups.

When she’s not pouring her soul into her art, Fiscus donates her time to numerous boards and advisory committees. She also participates in two women’s organizations. In her spare time she enjoys travel, live entertainment and spending time with her close friends. She has two grown children and three grandchildren.
